Um...You can buy a 6 pack of Windsor & Newton 8 x 10 canvases for $15. Acrylic paint is not so spendy either. Why this is not a DIY but rather a plug for this "art" is beyond me.

Happiest color ever—i love it! I have a living room wall painted this color—it is perfect year round, in different lights, and makes art stand out wonderfully.

OMG—I love how you've transformed your place so far!

I'd suggest taking some long walks in your neighborhood to see what plants you like. Take note of their locations (full sun vs shady plants) and take pictures as you go. CityPeoples or other garden stores will help you identify the plants. You can observe gardening styles that you like, too, to help guide how your yard will look.

I think some bright ceramic pots dotting along the porch and stairs might be fun pops of color to add—perhaps with Boxwoods or fun annuals.

Absolutely LOVE IKEA fabrics. I find them to be the affordable version of marimekko style fabrics. Bold, beautiful, and good quality.

And, making curtains or pillows is a great way for the sewing friend to teach the non-sewing friends how to sew. Lots of straight lines...easy!

I found this so inspirational! He took a regular apartment and transformed it with affordable and accessible items, rather than designer-only spendy ones, and proved that any space can become an oasis with some thought, creativity, and some diy know-how. BRAVO!

And, AP, bring us more of these!

Ginnielizz, I just looked at your blog you referenced and was horrified by your hate-filled ranting directed at Glassybaby. If you don't like them, fine, but to wish that they went out of business?! C'mon now.

Glassybaby truly does give to charity, produces a hand-blown piece of art made locally in Seattle, and they are found within so many homes due to their unique beauty. These babies glow on their own, and the colors are gorgeous during the day, or lit within at night.

And, btw, the creator came up with these as therapy during her own recovery of cancer.

I will continue to support Glassybaby

I swing on over to my local Goodwill and buy some of the many frames they have for great prices in almost new condition.

Yes, the house has great bones—that is the best feature. I love eclectic, for sure, but I don't personally find the styling to be inspiring in the least. The bedroom? The kitchen? This posting is not up to the AT posts i have come to expect. Congrats on some of the great finds...keep at it.
