I'm talking about the actual furnishings, not the "expensive vs. cheap" blog idea. Brown leather couch, sheepskin, and the exact same canister and elephant from Target. Seems like too much of a coincidence.

I have my TV on top of a single horizontal IKEA Expedit bookcase which is pretty low to the ground but it's beyond perfect. I don't look up at all, it's eye level when I sit on the couch. It makes going to my friend's house horrible though, since her TV is mounted about the fireplace and it hurts my neck.

My landlord just replaced a stand-alone dishwasher for us. It's a pain in the butt to hook up to the sink but hey, it beats not having one at all!

Am I the only one that just wants the couch to line up with the bed? I'd probably push it all the way back against the bed to increase the "living room" and use the black table as a TV stand or a desk against the wall the couch is facing.

The paint does look good though!

It was a holiday tradition for my family growing up. All us cousins (6-7 of us) would pile into my aunt's van and she'd drive us around the neighborhood and the city for over an hour or two just looking at Christmas lights on Christmas Eve while all the adults back home got some peace and quiet. It's still one of my favorite memories and I hope to do it with my kids someday!

I agree about gift cards. I'll do it as a last minute thing, but try to avoid it for people I'm really close to. Finding gifts for loved ones is supposed to be fun! I love finding stuff that's "so them" and it makes the holidays special.

I had a single big sink in my last apartment and LOVED it. Now I have a dual sink and it drives me nuts because I can never fit all my pots and pans in it, and it requires a lot of faucet shifting to clean both sides. Definitely will own a sink like this when I have my own place someday.

I love the idea of a library. Just shelves and shelves of books and curated items. Not sure how structurally sound it is, but if you put little ladder rungs on the side, you could have a pillow pit of sorts on top of the nook! I'm pictures lots of pillows and fabrics to make it feel homey and inviting. I think it'd be an awesome place to relax and read.
