E.

I use the yoga chair. It is a knockoff of a northern Euro chair. An acquaintance, Don, in my area manufactures and sells them. It is very form fitting and contorts to your size and weight. I work from home and live in front of my computer. Over the last year of using this chair, my posture has improved.

You can view/order the chair at www.myyogachair.com. If you decide to purchase one tell Don that you are helping him buy his RS4 (he will know who refered you).

More DC Talk:
On last Thursday, I was walking up 18th towards M (south of Dupont Circle) and ran across a Knoll store! Maybe this has been discussed before, but where did this come from? I wasn't aware that a Knoll was opening, or already there. It appeared that people were inside having some type of party. Lots of folks had drinks in their hands. I would have stopped in, but I was already late for a friends get together.

Is this a new store, or am I just late?

Patrick - I can't wait that long. I sold my main seating couch. My guest and I are tired of plopping on the floor. :)

Gluestick - Thanks for the confirmation. I think I am going to pull the trigger and try it. If it turns out to be crap then it goes to craigslist.

Thanks again,

Has anyone purchased a sofa from CB2.com? I am going to purchase some items from them, but wanted to get the opinion of someone that has actualy touched their products. I am located in DC and don't have access to their showroom in Chicago.

Often times sofas look great in a brochure or online, but are actually of poor quality and cheaply made (ie. iKea).

Thanks in advance,
-Grant

Even though we don't have as many places to shop as NY, I am pretty sure, between DC, MD, & VA, we have just as many places to shop as Chicago. (Maybe I'm wrong) At any rate, there seems to be more than enough member that reside in the DC area to support a AT:DC. With all of the gentrification, I mean growth going on in this city, it makes sense to me.

AT for DC! At for DC! Maybe if I chant loud enough it will happen. :)

Tryst is on my weekly stop by list. I work from home some I try to hit Tryst, Starbucks on 16th & U, BustBoy&Poets (when hungry), and I'm currently at the Caribou on 18th. I reside on the historic 1st St NW. There is a new cool coffee shop opening on 1st, called Big Bear. DC-ers should check it out!

Pixie - Are you associated with Miss Pixies on 18th? I have also had the same experience with Craigslist in DC. I have sold lots of furniture using it, but can't seem to find things that fit my style. I am walking distance from Millenium, but never went in. I'll try them soon. I will also check out Goodeye & Good Wood. Eastern Market seems to be hit or miss (usually more miss for me). Cadys Alley is one of my favorite places to shop. I have purchased lots of pieces from BO Concepts. It’s Italian, but half the price of Ligne Roset. The new Brazilian place across the street is grand, but extremely high priced. The west Elm will be a nice addition to the city. There is also one just over the bridge, if you can't wait.

Alex - Vastu is cool. I stop in there once every few months. I went to Apartment Zero last week for the first time. They have a great selection of designer pieces. I will add Home Rule, Prua, and Daniel Donnelly to my list of places to go to. I also like Smith and Hawkins in GTown & on Connecticut, for garden/flower supplies.

Lady J - Where is the Trish and Zara Home located?

Gretchenalexis - Reincarnations is cool and eclectic.

D in DC - RH Studio is cool.

Have any of you posted your places on AT, even though there is not a DC section?

-Grant

Nice. The space looks very clean while being really comfortable. I love the black hardwood floors. Black floors make me drool. And you have the 30" cinema display. I won't mention what that makes me do. :) Does the fililng cabinet really support the R2400 (printer) while printing?

I am also a photog. I work from home and understand how important it is to make an environment, of small size, conducive to productivity. I'm surprised you don't have more of your work on the walls.

So Pixie, and anyone else in the area, were do you buy most of your furniture and accessories? I'm always looking for new places and good finds.

That Mitchell Gold use to be a Storehouse, which went out of business. Storehosue use to sell MG pieces. I'm glad MG is there now. They will have more of his line than the Storehouse offered. I don't believe that the quality of MG is that great (opinion), but good stuff nun-the-less.

Hi all,

I have lurked here for over two months. This is the most helpful and informative site that I have found, for small space decorating. I have two questions for everyone.

1. Not to take anything away from AT, but are there any other good sites out there for small space living ideas?

2. Are there any plans to add at "Washington DC" section to AT? I noticed that a few of us live in the DC metro area. I would like to share photos of my place, but don't know if it is appropriate without a DC sections. Should I contact/e-mail someone inparticular about this?

One last thing... I really admire this community and look forward to the positive and helpful dialog that I may be able to add in the future.

Happy living,
-Grant
