Cold water for a long time, then make an infusion with plantain leaves from outside, wrap it up. Amazingly effective! The cold stops the burn and the plantain takes care of the pain. Ouch! How Do You Treat a Kitchen Burn? |

Never read them. At most, a notes blurb about options and substitutions is all I read besides the ingredients list, and the directions. I still love to "read" through cookbooks, but all I really do is look at pictures, and read ingredients lists. Recipe Headnotes: Do We Really Need Them? |

This was very, very good, and will be a must-do every summer. The ratio of green beans to the salad was a bit off, though. I doubled the recipe, but only used 1.5 pounds green beans to 2 pounds potatoes, and it was still a little overkill on the green beans. Next time I'd use half the green beans called for. I added some crumbled bacon, which was a wonderful addition. I used roasted corn from the cob, which was lovely and worth the time! The feta is a must, it really made the salad. The brown butter sauce was perfect. This is a great dish! Summer Side Dish: Potatoes, Green Beans, and Corn in Lemon Brown Butter Sauce |

I have a $15 Black and Decker drip coffee machine that brews one cup at a time. LOVE IT. It has a mesh filter too. Easy to clean, makes great coffee. Much better deal than one of these doohickeys and it's cups... K-Cups and Coffee Pod Systems: Love Them or No, Thanks? |

I agree with those who are saying don't fix what ain't broke. I don't buy the theory that coming up with a more creative way of presenting a recipe is going to get people who don't enjoy cooking into the kitchen. The Challenge: Can You Design a Better Recipe? GOOD Magazine |
