Seems like a real shame to have painted that nice piece of furniture, could have stained it a really gorgeous stain color to accentuate the beautiful natural details of the wood grain.

Oh well.

I absolutely love it. Just because the home is historic, does not mean the paint need be.

Oh my god... Why on earth would you cover a light with a scarf? Firstly it's hideous and looks trashy, even if your scarf is Hermes. Secondly, hello fire hazard! Bad idea, bad design.

I am a renter and our place has terrible light fixtures, so I went to the local recycled building materials place and bought three light fixtures for under $20. I spray painted one matte black, and left the other two alone because they had a nice vintage patina. It took me all of 5 mins to replace the fixture in the ceiling, and while I was at it I put in a dimmer switch. Done and done.

Eeeh. I wish she had chosen a different word to empower herself with... "Shiksa" still has a really strong negative connotation in the Jewish community, the kind of word your mother would slap you for saying about someone.

I fear that one person cannot change generations of peoples minds on the meaning of the word. Seriously... it's a really, really awful word.

The word shiksa is etymologically partly derived from the Hebrew term שקץ, sheketz, which means "abomination", "impure," or "object of loathing", depending on the translator.

Several dictionaries define "shiksa" as a disparaging and offensive term applied to a non-Jewish girl or woman. It implies having loose morals.

Hate it. Barn door style bathrooms are totally not private whatsoever.

Sure, they look good, but when someone is using the restroom, they loose all appeal.

I don't understand the explosion of this trend.

Food; not just for eating anymore, now for wasting!

Are you tired of having pesky food to eat? Now try throwing it away!

Why not? We live with an endless supply of excess.... right? Right? Hmmmm.
