We just moved from 1200 ft with 2 adults and 4 kids. we loved it once it got organized. Made the chores go quickly so we could spend our time doing the family stuff instead. Now we're living with my sister in her 3500 sq ft victorian...all we do is clean... :(

Wow the dresser switch is beautiful! I've been doing this in my own home. I've moved most of what we owned into the attic..cept for key pieces like beds and the couch. I'm having issues with my accessories and wall art. I felt too cluttered and now I'm not sure where I want stuff to go..and I'm having a huge issue with my furniture in the living room arrangement..I'm just stuck..but I feel free'er cus most of my stuff is up in the attic..and not down here cluttering up stuff!

I think what you have works..just needs tweaking on furniture placement..I would move the bed in front of the window..add more texture pillows to your bed...Put your tv where your bed currently is but put it caddy corner so it's not so central. Then maybe put the two chairs with the small table between them on that wall with the door. . I can't tell but maybe use the console table as another nightstand if it fits. I agree about the wall color if you can change it. An icy blue or light grey would be very calming and romantic in your room with your current furnishings and textiles.

But I love the cardboard! go figure!

At first impressoin I actually thought it was fabric..Was this all hand painted or Screened? either way kudos cus it's not easy painting this much space with details. I love the effect of it behind the desk, with that beautiful desk and great floors...Also love the natural light in there...I think it's sweet too that he did this for his wife..I know lots of husbands who have some mad skills and they don't use it on them..

My coffee top is handpainted by a tattoo artist friend and I...so it's always bare to show off our joined artwork. :) Sides if I put stuff on it my one year old will happily mess with it..

I really like this concept..I often switch things through out my house to make the rooms feel fresh again instead of buying new. I just put my dresser from our bedroom into our living room to use as a tv stand..Our room is wayyy too small so it definately helped us gain some space in here! Good post in the fact that it shows the concept of updating accessories for a whole new look instead of tossing out your furniture..

I've been feeling so overwhelmed with our home.. (6 people 1200sqft) Nothing had a home anymore so it seemed pointless to try to put anything away..then we put up our tree and bam more crap to deal with....Last night I spent four hours clearing out clutter from all of our main living spaces and our room..Just walked in grabbed something and tossed it in either the trash, attic, or belongs to another room...We now have enough crap in our attic for a really good yard sale...but I feel better because I feel free of that junk (even if it is just for now!) I feel so much better about our room I'm painting a mural before work today above our bed...So yeah purging definately lifts the spirits!

It's busier..but so much warmer..I love it. I've been taking off cabinet doors for years cus I love open shelving and this is the closest I can get to having some. I think a kitchen should be practical and fun..You spend so much time in it..Your framed food is lovely and inspiration! You could change them out with new dishes.keep the inpspiration flowing. I love the paper..Also I paired down to what I use frequently in my shelving so they're getting washed all the time..and I don't have film on my things..
