I agree with jeb1111. This simply isn't the venue for a post like this. And it is only made worse by the patronizing aspirational angle. Living spaces like these are atrocious. Period. That should be the only takeaway from this. Three people sharing a tiny living space should not be inspiration for figuring out how to fit a sofa in a studio apartment. My Great Dane has an attachment to a large leather chair that is just a wee bit too small for him. He curls up in it and my Jack Russel curls up on top of him. In fact, they're sleeping like that right now. i did this: http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/la/diy/yet-another-diy-closet-chain-branch-hangers-059493 but without the branch -- too earthy crunchy for me. i love it. all my clothes are grayscale, so they go well with the rest of my design scheme. and, yes, it makes me purge unnecessary items more often. best decision i've made in terms of organizing my room. i agree with bekkapalmer about having a sense of humor about this. i have a nonfunctioning fireplace. my roommate and i put an old metal tonka truck and a playboy puzzle from the 1960s in the space. candles or a wine rack are so overdone and uninspired. please don't waste the space in this way.
