A slipcover may be the easiest way out but if you want to have the pattern show, anything else that gets paired with the couch should probably be solid because the couch is loud enough. The pale blue from the pattern is a very nice tint, and maybe you could pull some of that gold tone into other pieces as well?

And if the couch is still too loud, how about a throw blanket draped over it? Not completely over it like a slip cover, but just enough to tone down the pattern without completely covering it up.

You should be allowed to see the place before you want to put any money down. If not, then the place isn't reputable and you shouldn't trust him.

@51desks- I had some wide fabric ribbon/tape (you could probably find some at a craft or fabric store; I actually got mine off of a fleece blanket from Target) that I tied into a loop at one end. I hung all my pins from that ribbon and hung the ribbon off a hook on my wall. It's primitive and could probably use some more planning/embellishment, but that's how I'm displaying all my pins/buttons.

Another thing you could do is frame a sheet of cork or buy a corkboard. I use it to hang my jewelry but found out it also works for my brooches, as well.

It's tricky when one lives at an apartment and shares a parking lot with others, too. Plows can only clear the path and contiguous empty parking spaces. It's hard to tell whose car is whose, so often times you'll see a bunch of empty spaces and then some where the plow couldn't do as good a job because someone's car is parked there.

I'm still trying to figure out a way to prevent my car from getting trapped in 3-foot walls of snow/ice. I just had to dig it out earlier this evening, and at this point all the snow had hardened and a thick layer of ice had formed in some places. Guess this is more incentive to skip the bus every once in a while and drive somewhere?

This is perfect! I am looking for some more vinyl decals to adorn my rented apartment walls, and now I have sources for that and other things I can put in my apartment!

I'd probably only do this... once in a blue moon?
For more weekly use, I'd have just bleached the dish mat in the sink, cleaning the sink at the same time I'm desanitizing the mat.
Not the way to go if you're avoiding harsh chemicals, but it works in a pinch!

This would actually work for my laundry/bathroom- there's a small gap in between the washer and the nook that fits stuff like detergent, but not much else. I haven't been looking that much for slim shelving, but a slim console table might just fit the bill?

I actually kind of like the ribbon idea. If the length in the photo is too long, it can always be adjusted. And if the concept of ribbon hanging down a chandelier is too much to grasp, how about adding ornaments to the ends (similar to past posts from this week about finding creative spaces to hang ornaments).
