Mold clean up can get expensive pretty quickly. Most likely your ceiling will have to be opened up to get a bid.a company like servpro or servicemaster should be able to do it. Wow! THANK YOU all for the wonderful suggestions! I really can't wait to start playing around with these ideas. So many more comments then I expected. In the mean time, I will definitely line the top of the cabinets with paper to keep the grease from collecting up there. Didn't even think of that! Don't worry all, that florescent light is going to go, unfortunately we aren't to handy with electrical work so will have to hire someone to help us out with that. I recently moved from the New England to Queen Creek AZ. It seems like every other month its another letter from the HOA showing up for weeds, overgrown bushes, dying tree that needs to be removed, unapproved landscaping... its a nightmare! ... and we haven't figured out how to control our irrigation system, so i water everything by hand...
