Storing loose/freeform Legos isn't really a problem for me. My problem is that my son prefers those insidious Lego sets that only build one thing. We have an entire fleet of Star Wars ships and vehicles that will fall apart if you look at them sideways, and no ideal way of storing those. I might need to build a hangar.

We love Spot It, which I bought to take on a plane ride a few years ago. There are a few different ways to play, and we never get bored with it. And it comes in a little tin that takes up no space at all!

I'd say leave it, too. The cushions look a little saggy, and they might need to be replaced as well, and I have a feeling that when you get it to a point where you are happy with it, you may as well have bought a new sofa.

ThisLife sounds great, as long as my photos are kept behind a gate with a password. I don't need the entire world to be able to see my family photos and videos.

OK, I love, love, love Andrew Henry's Meadow, and I recently introduced my five-year-old son to it (he gasped when we got to the page with Andrew Henry's first big contraption; he's hooked). But I had *completely* forgotten about We Were Tired of Living in a House until I clicked through Bean's link. I loved that book!

Saying goodbye to my grandparents' house was so hard. It was like a second home to me growing up. It still shows up in my dreams, though...

Yes. You should have a comfy chair, ideally one that you can fall asleep in and not wake up with a stiff neck. My son is 5 and we still constantly use the chair we bought for his nursery for reading and snuggling. We bought an upholstered glider armchair from a company called Best (based in Indiana, I think) and it's been worth every penny.

Sorting pieces by color is incredibly time-consuming. I'm still looking for the holy grail of Lego storage, and I don't think this is it.

Bounty paper towels, King Arthur flour, and, for my son, Tom's of Maine strawberry toothpaste.

acharmer, when I'm out of Lemi-Shine, I use a cup of white vinegar in the bottom of the dishwasher. It does the trick.

I have had a Pottery Barn sofa for about twelve years, and it has not aged very well.

I love "The Little Brute Family," and made it a point to read it to my son last night after reading Hoban's obit in the NY Times. Indeed, thank you, Russell Hoban.

I've been trying to sell my son's (almost new) skates on Craigslist to no avail. At least I know what to do with them now if I'm indeed stuck with them.

I love the rectangular Krush Can for laundry. When my son was a baby, we were living in a tri-level townhouse and I had to haul a lot of laundry up and down a lot of stairs, so this lightweight container was a godsend. I also like that I can cram it into tight closet spaces.

Agree with the people who suggest solid or striped (i.e., basic) crib sheets. You're going to be changing and laundering those sheets a *lot*. Get a few sturdy crib sheets (at least 3 or 4) (and waterproof mattress pads), because they're always going to be in the laundry. Lands' End made great crib sheets when I was in the market for them.

Then go nuts with pirate/dino accessories!
