This is a very helpful tutorial for the countless occasions in which you will find yourself removing a screw that some previous jacka** owner or tenant stripped while driving in.

Square and star drive screws, amazing as they are, will probably be waiting in line with the metric system for Americans to truly embrace them.

Until then, thanks Gregory, i'll definitely try a rubber band before i dig out my screw extractor.

I love this pattern, and have done it in our home. As you note, it makes a huge difference in a home with 8 foot ceilings, this pattern really draws the eye up.

I worked for a tile setter for several years. We tore out countless 'trend/fad/dated' bathrooms. The homeowners all cited tile color or structural damage as the reason. No one said they couldn't stand the pattern, it was the mauve and blue faux marble or bubblegum pink that drove them nuts.

My 2 cents. If you're setting tile for the long haul, color is where you should show restraint. Look to the architecture of your home, and the size of the room to guide your pattern choice.

Maybe name it after the builder?

I've been doing alot of work on our house, and I associate each room or project with the audiobooks I listened to while working on it. For example, I just finished sewing the Rabbit Angstrom slipcover in the Falkner dining room, which is adjacent to the half finished Elmore Leonard kitchen ;)

We did stainless counters in half of our kitchen so far, and are saving up to do the other half this summer (fingers crossed).

I love them a little more every time i come home to a dried ring of cranberry/orange/grape/pineapple juice, wine or pasta sauce on the counter. I just wipe it up, and save my nagging energy for things like shoes kicked off in the hallway.

i could prattle on for hours about how much i love my card catalogue, but i'll spare you, and keep to my favorite ikea solution

no biggie, i'm obviously too old use current slang properly, sigh. And i agree, i like the give and take on AT, and think we're being far more civil and open minded than the tired "I love/I'm over MCM" threads, talk about haters ;)

The bible attracts haters because, historically, so many have done hateful things, using the bible as an excuse. I'd argue that's it's the most violent 'literature' ever written. Sure, there's some good stuff in there. But all I hear about lately is how the bible god wants our government to wage war and deny rights to gays and women.

If only our fearless leader would've prayed to the god of the Ikea catalogue, we'd all have perfectly organized closets, and maybe our accounts would be in the black.
