This is so timely - I was just grumbling this morning about what a pit our apartment has become lately. After living with my boyfriend for 3 years, I've gotten used to looking past this gigantic short-coming of his of not being cleaner. But, there are days when all of a sudden I start noticing just how awful it's gotten. This morning... the cooler with fruit and yogurt from making smoothies with friends on Wed is still sitting in the living room (yes, with the yogurt still in it)... ugh. I swear, he is utterly incapable of seeing anything that's below about waist-level, because once it hits the floor, he doesn't even notice it. Thanks for all the other comments - I'm so glad I'm not the only one! :) Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Live With a Slob? Spill It!Austin, Texas |

I love nibbling on the flowers - but I've always thought you had to pluck off the petals and not eat the base of the flower - can you just the whole thing in your mouth? Apartment Therapy The Kitchen | Seasonal Spotlight: Nasturtiums |

These are great suggestions. I never know how to answer the "what can I bring?" question because half the time I can't tell if the person asking is serious, or just trying to be polite. Apartment Therapy The Kitchen | Entertaining Tip: Our Answer to "What Can I Bring?" |

Our seven bikes (yes, seven bikes for two people) sit in what would be the dining area if we had a garage (or even a balcony) for the bikes. We bought some bike stands that sit on the floor. You roll the back wheel into them and they hold the bikes upright. We've ended up with our own sort of bike shop in the middle of the apartment, but since it's such a part of who we are, I think it kinda works. I agree that it's probably not as great as it sounds. Like corn-based plastics, I imagine these bags would biodegrade if you put them in a compost bin, but probably won't do much of anything in a landfill, except sit around for years and years. I'm not on the above list either, so I just signed up again. But, to keep things totally confusing, I'm Crawford153 on Flickr. :) Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | LA Spring Cure 08: Week One, Welcome Class! |

I loved those when I was a kid! We had little matching yellow plastic cob holders also to keep your fingers from getting too hot and buttery. Hooray for Tupperware! Apartment Therapy The Kitchen | Mystery Gadget: What's This Yellow Plastic Squeezer-Thing? |

I have a really hard time believing there's anything positive about Whole Foods. They gobbled up my local Wild Oats (which, granted was still corporate, but at least felt smaller and closer-knit), and it has been a nightmare watching all the changes... The store has gotten so cluttered, the amount of pre-packaged items has ballooned, customer service has gotten worse, they discontinued the wooden nickel program, and prices are steadily going up across the board. If it wasn't the easiest option for organic staples (like rice), I'd boycott them and spread my general discontent. Apartment Therapy The Kitchen | Whole Foods Market: Grocery Store |

One of my faves when I lived in Spain - Boquerones - deep fried anchovies. Yum yum. And, of course, you can't forget the tortilla de patatas (although I still haven't perfected my recipe). Apartment Therapy The Kitchen | Holiday Gift Bag 2007: Win 1080 Recipes and a Zyliss Grater |
