I've been intrigued by this recipe ever since I saw it posted, and I finally made it last night. I was blown away by how much it really tasted like pie! Since I wasn't able to find key limes, I used regular limes, like the recipe suggests, and couldn't tell the difference in the finished product (granted I am not a key lime aficionado). The flip side of it tasting so pie-like is that it's extremely rich. Normally I can eat huge quantities of ice cream in a single sitting, but I've had to pace myself with this one. I've been really intrigued by these and was hoping someone else would post a review. I forged ahead and made them this afternoon. And the verdict is... they're good! The chile and the cinnamon give them a nice flavor, but they're not hot, which I thought they might be with 5 tsps of chile. The only thing I'm on the fence about is the sesame seeds. They have a pretty strong flavor, but they do break up the intensity of the chocolate & spice mixture. Next time I make these I might try a batch with fewer or no sesame seeds. I desperately need this. I'm a piler by nature, but my piles have gotten away from me.
