I love all the things on the walls and ceilings. May not be "traditional" but it has so much personality, you can tell Brooke really had fun creating her home.

IKEA's Expedit shelving is cheap and functional, as it adds a lot of storage. If you want a solid division, you can add boxes instead of using it as shelving.

This is such a good one, though it's hard. My downfall is take-out, sometimes I haven't planned well, and I'm hungry and just don't have much in the house.

On the bright side, I bet the place has great sound insulation - you'll never have to hear your neighbor's music.

Oh, yeah, I have one of those. I moved at the end of April, and my "guest bedroom" have about 5 boxes of things that I don't use often and haven't thought about a place for yet (camping equipment, etc.) and the result is that the guest room looks more like a storage closet. And I so don't want to work on it. Maybe today I will open one box and unpack for 20 minutes. That sounds reasonable.

I love peonies, I wait patiently every year for peony season and then I buy as many as I can afford each week at the farmer's market. And I love their smell - for a few weeks every spring my apartment smells SO GOOD.

I would wait - re-paint and remove the shutters first. You might find that you like the roof-line once you've cleaned up the windows and color situation. If you still hate it - then you can change it, but you might save yourself some money by waiting. For what it's worth, I kind of like the funky roof line (but I really like odd lines).

The architecture in this place is crazy cool. The design really fits with the uniqueness of the space!
