@lauren elizabeth I have had the CB2 lamp for going on three years and still love it. It's centered over our coffee table in the living room, has held up great and is the perfect size. Getting it home on the bus in SF was a little brutal but totally worth it.

I just learned that Coriander is the seed for Cilantro. I actually got in an argument over it, INSISTING that it was not true, then google made me feel like an ass.

VEB Orange a store dedicated to selling items from the GDR it's all pretty mod fabulous. I got a set of gorgeous dishes there, white with red polkadots.

To be honest almost every store has wonderful treasures, Berlin seems to be a modernists dream so if you're going, have fun exploring and checking out the little shops along the way

First, is that the wallpaper because I'm in love.
Second I do fear that the safest option would be to use plexiglass can you by plexi from a hardware store instead of a glass shop? It would be thinner and lighter so you caould probably install it yourself.
There is a brief tutorial here http://www.rachaelraymag.com/fun-how-to/makeovers/how-to-fake-a-designer-backsplash/4

I have a plastic woven rug from 2modern

http://www.2modern.com/modern-furniture/Plastic-Rugs-Mats/Koko-Melange-Plastic-Floormat-4-x-6

It has a bit of give so it's nice to walk on and the price means I could get a nice large rug for my living room

This is a photo of the rug in my living room

Don't stop! If you stop the project will sit and wait for you to be driven mad by it's incompleteness.

It took me a year to paint the sliding closet doors in my dining room while the ENTIRE apartment was painted and completed around them. The minute they were done I had such a better feeling about our home as a whole! Don't let home improvement delay drive you mad.

I second the tennis ball in the dryer. It makes a huge difference and you get really plump pillows. (the only downside is the ruckus they make!)

Also, am I the only one who was thrown by the picture? I was looking at it thinking, those cases should be dry cleaned!

I love geometric patterns, lately I have been obsessed with hexagons. As a renter I can't do wallpaper, but I did create a great graphic pattern/art installation with ikea mirrors and felt just last week!
