It's not a prop if you love it and/or use it!

Like Arouault, I give the chicken a good rub with salt then rinse it off and dry it. Growing up, my mum would make a lime and salt mixture and use it the same way. Seems sensible to me. Cooking it might kill the bacteria, but washing it makes me feel better.

We don't have the space for different glasses for every wine, so we just ended up going for what we though looked nicest!

I've moved a lot in the past few years, nine times in 7 years. Maybe it is the experience, but we always make a move in kit of toilet paper, paper towels, and cleaning products. Maybe if someone presented me with all those things in a laundry basket well before we'd moved, I'd appreciate it, but a six pack of TP with a ribbon on it? Not so much. A trophy would fit in no where in our decor, and I'd probably give it away. For gifts before people move, it's probably a lot wiser not to give them things. Many people will be getting rid of things, or already have decor ideas in mind. Offering moving help, child care or pet sitting, dinner on moving day will probably be much more helpful. If the gift is after they've moved, a gift card as was suggested above is a great idea. Wine and beer or even nice cheese are usually great, as guests may often drop by unexpectedly when you're just settled in. The worst gift received by us was a huuuuge bible. The best (to me!) was a cooler of steak.

I LOVE my papasan chairs! I've got two single ones, and the are so comfy that I do not care whether or not they suit the apartment's style.

My husband is the one with ugly furniture attachment. He refuses to get rid of his terrible nightstand, as it has been next to his bed since childhood. Imagine a two drawer, off white melamine thing with grey handles, and you probably know exactly what I am talking about.

Totally agree with the whole bedrooms come last thing. I've been moved in for almost a month and mine still looks like a disaster. I love your re-do! I think it is light and happy but still rich and vibrant. definitely a good call painting the ceiling the same colour... i can't imagine anything else working quite as well! decorating such a fun room is going to be a blast, i'm sure. anyhoo, great choices i think! haters will hate, lol. and i am on the bed loving bandwagon.
