We are on the other side of LA in Topanga, but our house has the same sort of paneling, size, feel etc...I recently decided we need to embrace the funky cabin vibe, and not paint over everything and/ or remove vintage details. There are not that many examples of this attitude right now, as folks seem to be on the whitening everything trend.

Thank You! I just started an all over stencil today, and had a moment of fear... "will it be too much?"
But then I see your beautiful, ordered chaotic room and felt both relieved and inspired. You've done an amazing job! Good idea for the rug, too!!

Wow. I understand her belief that mothers shouldn't sacrifice themselves to aim for unrealistic perfection, but the examples she uses are meaningless. I wore my babe everyday until I was 7 months pregnant with the second one, mostly because it was EASIER than a stroller. The first time I was able to go on a long hike while babywearing was SO LIBERATING. I couldn't have done that with a stroller. Same goes for Breastfeeding. No bottles, mixes, measuring cups etc...not to mention saving money. It was great to know I always had everything we needed, right on my own body. And those times I couldn't breastfeed, we did supplement with formula. No biggie.

After browsing this site for weeks I had to register today so I could vote for your room! What a wonderful, peaceful space you've created!
