Definitely. I have a mini-australian shepherd who has been with me through thick and thin. I know one day when she's gone, a beautiful portrait of her will bring back very fond memories of when she was with me. I plan to have a portrait done in a few months by a photographer friend of mine. So I think it's worth it, no matter how cheesy some people may think it is.

I agree that you should avoid dairy--I had a cheese-heavy meal the night before a long run last fall and I totally bonked. Also, I saw that someone above suggested arrabiata sauce. If I were you I'd make sure your tummy can handle the spice by eating the sauce before a practice run. I love spicy food (think: Thai hot) but for some reason, even a small amount of spice just churns in my stomach when I run so I avoid it. Anyway, I think that pasta with red sauce and veggies sounds like a good plan. Perhaps add some grilled chicken. Good luck in your race!

Not sure if you're planning to cook or just want to know what convenience foods you can purchase to eat. If you're just wanting to purchase something, I recommend KFC mashed potatoes and gravy. Normally, I would never eat KFC. I think it's pretty gross. But, when I had my wisdom teeth out, their mashed potatoes and gravy really hit the spot. Also, consider meal replacement shakes like Orgain (sold at Whole Foods). They're yummy and packed with nutrients. Feel better!

Looks delicious. Does this freeze well? Should you wait to add the bread upon reheating? Thanks!

Delicious. I made this the day it was posted, and it was fantastic. I added quite a bit more chili powder (approx. double) as well as a few splashes of Cholula Hot Sauce and Jalapeno Tabasco Sauce (I'm a fan of spicy food). I've made the chili two more times since then. Most recently, I doubled the recipe and froze half. It freezes well, but reheating overcooked the kale. Next time, I would freeze prior to adding the kale and then add fresh kale upon reheating.

Can we add to that list: avoid images of delicious, sugary cupcakes? Alternatively, do you have the recipe for those cupcakes? Mmmmm...

I know you mentioned the lifetime warranty was no help, but if I were in your shoes, my first step would be to call Le Creuset and ask for their suggestions. They might do in-house repairs for a fee, or they might refer you to a good repair specialist. If anything, they could at least give you some insight about what type of repair you need, what materials (and enamel pigment) to use, what to look for in a repairman, and so on. Good luck.
