I like the IDEA of a boot tray, but I'm pretty sure the dog would think I was leaving her a chew toy if I left my boots out.

I keep a wire basket by the door, and boots and dirty shoes go in.

I struggled with this myself this year. Finally went with office supplies. Went to office depot, and loaded up on pens, highlighters and clipboards. Not exciting, but better than the crappy stuff we have at work.

Maybe I should add some moleskins...thanks to whomever above mentioned that!

Just last year, my mother offered up her "old" set of dinnerware that she got when she was first married. My grandfather took her to the green stamps store (!) and they picked it out. It's now totally mid-century and I love it.

Our is not a china set family.

My 80's era townhouse has keyed deadbolts on both front and back doors. I thought it was weird when I moved it, but all I did was have a couple of copies made of the key and just leave them inside in the locks.

No different than a twist-to-lock.

A couple of years ago, when I chose cyan, peacock, and lime green as my color scheme, couldn't find much and had to spray half my accessories.

Now the choices are abundant. I'm feelin kind of torn about it. HATE it that all my stuff suddenly looks like it all came from the same store.

Having just helped clear out my eighty-ish grandmother's attic...I must respectfully disagree with this as a dream source.

Or maybe just not MY grandmothers'. :)

I'm not sure that there are "perfect" pillows. I change mine frequently, adding a new one here and there or making a new cover when I find some cool fabric.

In the five years the author has been looking for pillows, I've gone through DOZENS. That's half the fun, people!!

I have a washer that rolls out of the closet when I need it, and attaches to the sink. And a much smaller version of the ventless dryer in the picture. (A recent hand-me-down.)

I still have no idea where put the dryer. I'm toying with just leaving it on the kitchen counter....I have a corner that just accumulates clutter.

Best Room for the Laundry?

Wow, that is a big bed. Not horrible, though.

I think that a kind of British Colonial Island style could look great in this room. (You have good light with those windows, which make me jealous!) Paint the walls something light and breezy, get pale linens, and lighten up the window treatments.

The lamps are fine, but the side tables are too *heavy* Basically, lighten everything else, and let the bed be the focus. It will be anyway, might as well make it look intentional.

I've been dryer-less since I moved a few months ago. Haven't missed it a bit, actually, which seems to shock most people who live around me.

The only difficulty I actually have is sheets and duvets. I just don't seem to have the room to hang em.

I'm a firm believer in spending some extra money on bedding. It just always lasts me longer. (Plus, if you're prone to leaving the bed unmade like me, then it's really just a chance to show off my gorgeous sheets. Right?)

And TJ Maxx and Tuesday Morning are great recourses for higher-end bedding on the cheap. Love em.

Wow, such a lot of anger over fish bowls! I've had everything from a large salt water tank (THERE is you maintenance), to a small 1 gallon tank for Bruno the beta at present.

Like his predecessor, he seems pretty happy. My last beta lived for about four years, which is awesome for a fish. Does enjoying my fishy friend make me a bad person?

Calm down, people. Nothing in the original post implies that the author intended to torture any helpless fishies.

My plan for a couple of coffee-loving friends is to make up some extra mocha mix and include it with their other gift.

Bonus! I already have all the ingredients, since I make this up for myself.
