I too was taken in by vintage charm. I looked in all the cabinets to check for bug details, it wasnt until we moved in and replaced the landlord's fridge with my own that I found a roach motel...and eventually they came out of hiding. Ortho home defense took care of that however the big picture window in our living room with views of the mountains unfortunately was a calling card for condensation during winter and now there is mold all over the wall under the window behind my couch. The rooms dont have enough outlets and our landlord has never gotten around to repairing our front door knob which falls off if you pull to hard on the knob. It was my first time moving out on my own and it had to be done in a hurry so my pickings were slim, I will not be making the same mistake twice when it comes to scrutinizing my next home. 10 Renting Warning Signs |

Our 12lb dog sleeps on our bed, however during the summer she will sleep on the floor. While she does have her own dog bed she seems to prefer sleeping with us, even if it did take some adjusting. In fact when she first started hopping on at night I would correct her and place her on the floor, she is smart though, she would just wait for us to fall asleep, in the morning Id wake up to find her right next to me. She took my fiance and I from being a couple to being a family so on the bed she stays. Furry Bedfellows: Do You Sleep with Your Pet? NY Times |

My fiance and I keep a basket on the toilet tank with assorted soaps, air freshener and a tiny radio in which we use to mask any noise. I first used the running water trick though in college when I went from having my own bathroom to sharing one with the girl next door, since we had to share a bathroom. This is very clever. I bought some lamps from the Goodwill that had harps but thankfully the uno shade ring fit snugly between the harp holders. I will keep this in mind though, it could come in handy. How To Use an Uno Shade with a Harp & Finial Lamp |

This is exactly what I have been wanting to do with my dining room. Our dining table is only used as a place to pile groceries/items from Target trips so Ive been wanting to use the space as a home office and if I ever have company I can just hide away my things to use the table.
