This is something I always struggle with every spring. I LOVE asparagus so I usually just grin and bear it, but I will be trying this technique next time for sure. Smart Tip: Gritty Asparagus? Don't Just Wash It, Blanch It! |

I love this so much, definitely one of my favorite house tours ever. I share their love of outsider and folk art, and I'm slowly working my way toward a collection like this...one day. :)

Ahh, I just clicked through to see your earlier post on jicaletas. That's what I'm talking about! So, here's another vote for that. Crunchy & Cool: Jicama Ingredient Spotlight |

I love to slice it into matchsticks and toss in lime juice, then sprinkle with a mixture of about 1/4 white sugar to 3/4 Tajín (a Mexican chili powder seasoning mix). Amazing and low-cal. If you've never tried Tajín, do it now. It's great on everything, especially raw fruits and vegetables. Crunchy & Cool: Jicama Ingredient Spotlight |

I absolutely do, especially in sauce, but not to "hide" them or be sneaky in any way. I do it for three reasons: first, because it definitely builds amazing flavor, as Lam suggests, second, because it adds extra bulk and nutrition to stretch our food dollar, and third (maybe most importantly) because sometimes I just need to figure out how to use my veggies up. Ever since our first CSA subscription, I've had to find lots of creative ways to "get rid" of my veg stockpile before next week's delivery (or before they go bad). This is also why every Monday in my house has become a stir fry extravaganza. Ever put beets in a stir fry? Join a CSA and you just might. Are You a Vegetable Hider? |

Ahhhhhhhhh! I remember going to Dante's with my prom date. We thought it was just about the fanciest place in Atlanta. You've inspired me to pay it a visit this holiday when I'm in town. Holiday Recipe: (Grownup) Almond Joy Milkshakes |

I just had a foie gras milkshake at Flip Burger (Richard Blais's place in Atlanta), and it was surprisingly delicious...although one shake is seriously enough for 4 people to share, it's so rich and unctuous. Fat + more fat + even more fat FTW. Savory Ice Cream: Do You Have a Favorite Flavor? |

I baked ~200 cupcakes for my wedding, and tried around 10-12 recipes before I found the one that was far and above the rest - it's Amy Berman's (Vanilla Bakery in LA) basic vanilla cupcake recipe - search the Martha Stewart site for "meyer lemon raspberry cupcakes" to find it. It's a little fussy, but the result is so so amazing - super moist and fluffy with great vanilla flavor. How Can I Make Moist, Fluffy Bakery-Style Cupcakes? Good Questions |

Definitely on the the corn tortilla side of the fence when it comes to enchiladas. If you haven't tried it, Elise's enchiladas recipe (Simply Recipes) is fantastic, and her method for heating and softening the tortillas is foolproof. What's the Difference? Flour vs. Corn Tortillas |
