Tips for Moving a Mirrored Dresser? Good Questions
5/16/13 3:00 PM

We just moved furniture like this a few weeks ago. The movers cut cardboard to fit the tips and side of the piece, they then placed a moving blankets on the furniture and secured it with plastic wrap. All corners and edges received ample bubble wrap which was then further secured with more shrink wrap. Not a single scratch! The three flights of stairs question, STRONG movers.

Lovely. I might have overlooked this, but what is the paint color on the walls? Thank you!

What a lovely home! Thanks for sharing.

A note: I believe the Benjamin Moore color in the Living Room & Bedroom is actually "Revere Pewter" not "Revere Puter."

A question: Where is the bedding from? I love it!

Fantastic tips, I'm excited to read what others suggest. While not as glamorous as lighting and music, I always suggest double-checking the bathroom. Light a nice, mild scented candle, empty the waste-basket, and make sure there is plenty of toilet-paper out so guests don't have to awkwardly search out more.

Be very careful putting pillows in the dryer. My husband's childhood home burned down when his mom put the pillows in the dryer (they had a lice scare). Some of the material came out, clogged the vent, and cause a very quick spreading fire.

I think the most important tool on your list would have to be the thermometer. Even if all signs indicate the turkey is done (juices run clear, leg comes easily off, etc) you can still have an undercooked turkey. My friends and I learned this the hard way recently (we did use an old classic thermometer, though it took ages to read) and half of us got food poisoning.

I'm a regular reader of her blog, it usually isn't private. I'm thinking perhaps this is an error, though I don't know why/how.

I used to work at PF Changs (fancy, I know) and we had a jar of plain vinegar on all the tables for use when a dish was too spicy. Perhaps, it would work well considering your dish!

I recently discovered that the little girl I nanny wrote, "I am so happy, I am so happy, I am so happy..." all over my recipe card for chocolate chip cookies (we were making them together). I put it on the fridge and it perks me up every time I see it.

1. You're not alone, my husband thinks I'm crazy because I go crazy cleaning before we go on any trips.

2. Regardless of the cleaning tools/products used if I don't have music I can dance too, it won't be cleaned nearly as well.

Cell phone charger, tissues, allergy meds, water, and text books. So I guess my nightstand says I'm a student and that I'm allergic to everything.

I also made this recipe this weekend and I love it for both its simplicity and flexibility. I was nervous about the quantity of sage so I used less, I had some gruyere in the fridge so I added that to the top, and I used fresh ginger. Overall, the dish turned out wonderful. My dinner guests thought that is was missing a little something (perhaps because I didn't use enough sage) but found that a light sprinkling of smoked paprika OR chili powder really brought this dish to the next level.

I will definitely be making this again and may even use the above suggestions of trying basil and/or goat cheese.

Thanks for the recipe!
