Hmm... and I just went on a DVD shopping spree last night (gotta love Target's dvd sales).

Define "functional." If you only want a phone that you can dial a number into and make a call, then buying a new phone with other features doesn't make sense. If you have a tv that is small with a crappy picture, and that's fine with you, stick with it.

If, like me, you had a perfectly working phone that could make calls and texts, but you want access to email, internet, etc, then upgrading isn't a waste. I switched from a great little LG phone to a BB a few months ago and haven't looked back. (I did give my LG to my dad, whose Motorola was falling apart.)

And to that question of what I want for Christmas? The answer is always, always money. :-)

My cousin gave me a medium sized piece of art for my apartment when I first moved it. It just so happened to pull on the colors of my place (without her ever having been there) so I hung it immediately.

I might not give someone something as big as what I received, but I think a gift of art has the ability to telling the story of you and that person.

In sum, even if it wasn't "my style" per se, I'd still try and find a place for it. (Unless it was completely gauche or seemed like there was no thought put into selecting it.)

Ok, that's great... and I imagine you can paint it or finish it to match just about any decor.
