@1MinaSays It seems like they did at the cake and punch reception.

Loved reading about the whole planning and execution process!

It looks like the lights are battery-powered since they lasted all evening without the wax level sinking--they look super realistic in the photos though, I'd be interested in the source.

Looks great! The window upgrade looks like a huge improvement, too.

I agree with others that a bright color could be fun. I'm not sure of the style of the nightstands, but using a metallic paint or gilded finish could offer a cohesive look and would be versatile if you changed bedroom textiles in the future.

If you aren't too picky about the look, just freehand it with an exacto. I did that here for a watercolor that is only seen from a bit of a distance and didn't have to shell out for a mat cutter. I told myself that I'd go back and try again or get something professional done at some point, but it took this post to remind me of that! If the photo of the AT project was taken from a distance the mat might not appear as offensive to some. Basically, I would consider where you plan to put it and invest accordingly.

Urbancricket made me curious so I looked it up. A few WWD commenters identified the "non-model model" as Stella Rose St. Clair, an artist and milliner.

I got tired of the build up of water glasses throughout the house from the adults in my house! I got a different colored glass for each person (here). Love the rubber band idea, too.

The clean-lined shelving made me think of IKEA's Vittsjo: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20213312/ . At that price you invest a little more to sub out the shelves with wood planks.

That first photo was my inspiration to find a large goldish/bronzey mirror to go over my fireplace. I posted it here and finally got the beastly thing hung up (in the background of the last photo here). I still love that gold and gray combo.

Clever, looks cool. I agree with Lorint--they do look like snaps, but I think that's fun.

I attempted dripping paint onto planters like #1 and #2 with mixed results depending on the shape of the pot. I think I'll give the solid paint ideas like #7 and #10 a try. http://monochromaticdynamic.blogspot.com/2012/01/plants-and-paints.html

I used Behr's Ashwood and (warm, can look a little sage-y depending on the lighting) and Behr's Wheat Bread (lighter, looks good with browns and grays that have a more red/purple undertone). I've lived with both for over 2 years and like them. Swatch photo of Ashwood and its hues here: http://monochromaticdynamic.blogspot.com/2010/01/perfect-gray.html

I have three vintage frames (sorry, @Reindeer, I'm in Phoenix) and have been experimenting with sewing my own covers--the frames are too large/wide for the typical dorm size. I found some helpful youtube videos on the process, but creating the pattern so the stress points are in the right places is difficult.

Just recently I bought a chair identical to the first (and enlarged) photo--off craigslist, of course. Does anyone have more detail on the type of chair? I'm searching the information they used in the listing (Jasper chair) and not coming up with much.

Great work! I love the color palate and the hammock!

I'm not a fire code expert, but it seems like there's a still a clear path through the fire escape with the lighting and chime (it's looks like to run into the wind chime you'd have to jump down from the landing instead of taking the stairs)--so the only impediment is that cylindrical candle.

Is there drywall right up to the edge of the fireplace? I have a similar situation in my living room and bedroom--I've taken off the unfortunate looking tile that was there, but I have yet to decide on the replacement. I like the clean-lined look of Matt's, but is it possible for me to have a (safely) functioning fireplace if I try something similar?
