I agree that the TV is small for that area. If it can't be placed in another room, then you could try grouping some art around it or adding sconces on either side to balance it with the fireplace. For furniture I would take the two gold chairs and flank the fireplace with them, and place he sofa facing the fireplace with the coffee table in the middle. The hutch can go next to the opening and the small white chair (maybe with a small desk) on the opposite wall. If the sofa is too long to sit in front of the fire place, you could opt for a non traditional look of 4 comfy chairs positioned in a circle in front of the fireplace. I love you're space! I agree with most of the comments that the red wall and the shape of the fireplace etc compete with all the other interesting architectural elements in the space. I'd paint out the fireplace and all it's surround the same colour as your walls. Remove the trapezoid if possible. I'm not a fan of fireplaces and tvs competing, so I'd put the tv on the left wall if possible. I'd replace the shelves with reclaimed wood shelves to match the style of the exposed brick. That would be a nice backdrop to add (and change out) your colorful collectibles.

I'm with jrossi, I'd work with it by adding some opposing elements that soften it, reclaimed wood, vintage furniture, some soft light sconces. I'd also do the white or cream textiles, but I would have a variety of natural textures (chunky knits, a quality shag rug) again to soften it.

Another complaint here about the close-up shots. It's a frustrating feeling not being able to see how these elements look in relation to the whole room. It feels like I'm walking around a room with a magnifying glass right up to my face.

I agree with the others that the upper cabinet should go which will open up the space and feel less heavy. I'd paint the walls and lower cabinets white, and change the counter top if that's possible. Change the pulls to stainless steel. I'd keep the accessories white too, hang an extra long white shower curtain from a bar that's installed right up to the ceiling, change the window blind to white. With everything else white, the tile will be the focus, in a good way.

I've served drinks in them for cocktail parties as individual cocktail shakers. Take the jar, add ice, poor the cocktail mix, add the lid, shake, remove lid, slip a straw and garnish and voila!
