I think you have gotten your money's worth out of this sofa...start saving for your "dream sofa" (velvet does not wear well by the way). If your heart is set on keeping this sofa, I would use fresh foam for the cushions & then use a ready made slip cover in the color you like; they are easy to remove & wash.
