Definitely lay tile first! I had a hard time replacing my vanity recently because the previous owners had tiled around it and I could only replace it with a vanity of exactly the same size.

I see that this tour is a year old, but it's fantastic. I feel like I'm seeing things I've never seen before, which is rare on the Internet.

Sorry! BAD behavior, not bed behavior, which I don't want to see on a design show either.

More design, less drama. The designers participating in this show are no doubt talented, but we'll only see a few minutes of that because the producers seem to think we enjoy bed behavior and petty drama more. I can't believe Nate has attached himself to this train wreck.

This is a joke, right? Even if I had all the money in the world, on principle, I still wouldn't overpay for something that could easily be purchased elsewhere of similar quality and for so much less. I don't see anything special about this plant that would make it worthy of the ridiculous price.

What an improvement! I love the traditional blue/green combination. The room likes twice as large as before.

Love it! This is a perfect example of how to combine neutrals in a variety of textures in a way that is not at all boring. The dark gray trim color is fantastic!

Beautiful, cozy, eclectic, sentimental, and luxurious all in one apartment. It looks effortless, but having seen Danielle on Design Star, I know some serious skill and talent went into decorating this apartment. Well done!

TifaniMiff, I had that same type of changing pad. It firmly snaps onto the back of a dresser with industrial strength snaps.

Great job! Inspiring to see such a drastic change for a small amount of money.

So awesome! I rarely see houses on AT that are truly unique and this one definitely fits the bill. I lived in Slidell during Katrina and, like so many others, my house was seriously damaged. The Katrina art was a punch in the gut and took me right back to 2005, smells and all. But I am glad the art exists.

The best thing about this article is all of the witty references to it that have been popping up in the comment sections of other articles. There are some seriously funny people here! I don't mind occasionally reading about expensive, high quality goods, but I think you could better serve your readership by presenting a variety of choices from budget to aspirational. A Good, Better, Best type of feature would appeal to a wider audience. Oh and for the record, my favorite budget candle is the lemon scented one from IKEA.

Thanksgiving meals are about friendship, hospitality, and gratitude. Cook the meal you can afford to host! If you can't afford turkey and all the trimmings, make a big pot of turkey soup and buy some good bread or put together a Thanksgiving inspired shepherd's pie. Wine doesn't need to be expensive. An inexpensive non-traditional meal wouldn't offend me one bit. Being asked to pay would. The host's desire to play Martha Stewart shouldn't trump good manners.

It's a good temporary look for a small amount of money. Waaaay better than the carpet that was there. And yes, the article title is misleading.
