In my case, it depends on the brick. I love the old-looking industrial Manchester type. I do not like the 60s-70s dark type with very marked corners.
I sometimes like whitewashed brick walls.

The umbrella picture is from Alicante (Spain). That was part of the City Art Exhibition the Townhall organizes every year. A topic is chosen, and artists have permission to place their artwork in the streets for everyone to enjoy.

I have lived in Alicante for the last 2 years, and I remember seeing the "umbrella street". It was fantastic!
