I love my KitchenAid! A few years ago, I had to cut back on baking anything with a stiff dough because of my arthritis. Then hubbie brought home the KithenAid and I'm back in business making Ignatius Delights, HootieTooties and Ginger Dreams. If I didn't have to scrape down the bowl, mixing would be even easier. I've been making this "Corn and Wild Rice Soup with Smoked Sausage" for over 10 years and we love it! http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/833 We call it "Snow Soup", because the first time we made it was for a neighborhood game night and it snowed so hard that my husband had to pick up the neighbors because he had four-wheel drive. We played cards until midnight, watching it snow and eating re-heated soup with cloverleaf rolls. Wonderful memories...wonderful soup! Thick slices of fresh rye bread toasted around muenster cheese, lean smokey bacon and a slice of fresh tomato from my garden...a little bit of grilled heaven. (Currently made in an old fry pan while squishing the heck out of it with the back of a spatula...hint! hint!) I spent a summer in Miami's Little Havana with my Aunt and I just fell in love with Black Beans and Rice, Ropa Vieja, and Tres Leches cake. Oh...I wish I could prepare these for my family! I know this sounds odd, but if you buy a big inexpensive cut of beef and massage a packet of Lipton onion soup onto it and put it in a big pot of...coca-cola...and let it cook slowly for several hours, it is fantastic! Sweet & savory and the acids in the coke tenderize the meat. Thanks for a fabulous giveaway and Happy Holidays!
