I don't really understand the solution either. Essentially, you just shoved a dorm fridge in there with the recommended clearance....

Tutorial on how to make the chevron pumpkins? I've painted pumpkins in the past (acrylic paint) the paint seems to have a terrible time sticking, so does masking tape for that matter. Washing doesn't seem to help either. (Is it possible that store bought pumpkins are waxed??)

My living room is sky blue and orange! (It looks good, but the orange wasn't by choice [70s solid-orange student couch])

Just adding on to other comments, but who said the couch has to be parallel to the walls when floated? You can place it at the same angle as the fireplace if you wish (and you have the space to do so). And then you can use the rest of the room as a reading nook, an office space, etc... (Ok, I'll be honest I don't know what to do with the rest of the room after that.)

Arrangement Ideas For Room with No Focal Point? Good Questions

I think it could become tiring very quickly. Most people have cases on there phone (especially considering the cost and fragility of smartphones) and switch their cases often based on personal style, season, etc... A coloured phone could either become tiring for someone that doesn't like/want a case (unless they're the type of person that loves colour), or is completely pointless. Now if you could convince OtterBox to make different colours and patterns, that's a completely different story ;)

Fellow Ottawan as well! It's so great to see awesome pictures and an article promoting Ottawa (and not just about politics). I am away from home while studying and I am so very happy to see this!
And the trees are called Sumac. They do not necessarily grow near water. They are often considered a 'weed tree', since they grow using a system of shoots (like bamboo) and can take over an area, each 'shoot' only lives about 15 years. They are very frustrating to grow (because of their invasive nature and short life), but are very worth it in the fall for their red leaves and during the winter with their fuzzy red berries.

Historically those berries were used for making vinegars (in French these trees are called "vinaigrié", which is similar to the French word for vinegar), However this is no longer recommended since as much as 1/3 of the population is allergic to the berries.

I agree. With the post above and the first post. As nice as this is, it is completely against code. There is a reason these codes exist, it is to keep people safe. Furthermore, if there was a fire in your house (whether linked to the these electrical cords or not) it could void your house insurance.

I think the main problem with TVs is that it is usually a focal point in a room (why wouldn't be, that's half the function of a living room a lot of the time). They are also very limited in design (black and shiny, unless you can find an working 'wood' TV). I think if you were able to add a different frame to the TV, and then pop a DVD of a slideshow of family photos or even just random photos and art of your taste, it could be quite nice and a conversation piece.

If you really like the paint colour in your bathroom, consider perhaps painting the top half of the wall white. It will lighten the bathroom without losing out on colour. You can also put a chair rail molding where the two colours meet. Also use a paint that has more shine to it, versus a mat paint which can suck the light out of the room.

Ive heard that only Americans have those I know for a fact that its illegal to sell them in Ontario (the whole of Canada too maybe). They clog up the sewage treatment plants or something like that.

I wondered about this. I want to start a compost in the city where I go to school. At home (in the country) we have a huge compost so it doesnt matter if it freezes solid we could never fill it in 5 months-ish of below freezing temperatures. Good to know that it still composts in winter! :)

You'll find that once things defrost in Spring things will decompose FAST.
