This is a great house, filled with elements that look like they've been carefully curated and collected over the years because they were loved and not because they were something that was supposed to be in a house. My favorite House Tours are the ones that look like everyday people live in them and not like a designer tried to stage them to sell. I mean, of course you're going to clean up for AT but even still, this house looks like it's well loved and comfortable.

I do agree about the art being hung quite high - perhaps Bill is very tall? My husband hangs art higher than I do because he's quite a bit taller than me and that's eye level for him.

For the curious, the picture above my bed is painted on a window. I found an old black and white photograph of four men standing in a lumber camp up near Vail in the early 20th c. in a pile of photos by the side of the road (you can read more about that here: http://elizalives.blogspot.com/2010/06/john-pollock-story.html) and used it as the basis for this picture - it's just acrylic on glass and rather poorly done but it works with the house.

These videos just get cuter and cuter!

I didn't need to establish this since mine is pretty functional as it is - an old sewing table by my door with a bowl for my keys and an "in box" on my desk (also by the door) for my useful mail...but it was neat to see a few!

I did a pretty major declutter in august and I'm a cluttery tchockey enjoying sort of person so it was hard for me to figure out what to get rid of! I ended up looking in my broom closet and picking out a 1960's embroidered linen apron I never wear... I'm sending it off to a friend of mine with a bag of things I'm returning to her as a little surprise :)
