Micro Center has been offering the iPad mini (wifi-only) for $299.99 for a few weeks now. Almost seems like a permanent price-drop.

It's nice that OXM picked a Samsung PDP but based on my experience owning a 2010 vintage Samsung PDP, I'd do my homework on the pros and cons of PDP displays before shelling out for one.

I still haven't found any LEDs that can be used in fully-enclosed indoor fixtures. Has anyone else?

You forgot to mention that there is a way to stream Amazon.com content via the built-in Yahoo! app on Samsung "smart" TVs (and possibly BD players).

Thanks for the phone review, too. Nice to see WP7 making some headway against the bigger two mobile OSes.

I need to keep up on this stuff. If nothing else so I can make reasonable suggestions to coworkers when asked.

I've looked at Rainmeter, too. But, decided to hold off until I can get a 2nd external display (vs. using my laptop display as a 2nd monitor).

I've installed a VM of the Win8 dev. preview and played around with it a bit.

I don't recall which commentator it was or where (it was either over at ZDnet or TechRepublic). But, I agreed with them. The person commented that they installed Win8 on a touchscreen-enabled tablet device and that the biggest issue right now is that the Metro UI is just overlaid on the Win 7 desktop. There are too many situations where you're dropped into the old Win 7 desktop to do things. Which, if you're on a device that's relying heavily on touching to navigate, doesn't improve things from what's currently out there with Win7.

My only complaint at this time is that a post from a friend that I would have expected to show up in my "recent stories" stream never did!

Those someecards are awesome.

Do what I did when I was contemplating what size our next panel should have been:

I looked up the panel's phys. dimensions on the manufacturer's website, then taped a bunch of pages of the newspaper together quickly to the same dimentsions. I taped that up on the wall to get an idea of how the panel's size would fit into the space on the wall as well as in the overall room.

BTW, ended up going with a 50" Samsung PDP (C7000) back in Feb./March. Haven't regretted the decision yet.

Unfortunately, due to the fact that it must be purchased and shipped from a seller in Japan, the steps required and the price may not make this "inexpensive" but the Diagnl Ninja Strap is probably the best accessory I've bought for my m4/3 Olympus PEN E-PL1.

How are you liking this fan?

I've got a cheapy oscillating tower fan in my home office to help circulate air in it better (duct layout and air flow are big issues for me WRT our house).

We will be keeping our current Four-at-time plus streaming plan. When I checked on the planned price increase, I found ours would only go up $2 per month.

It seems like the percentage of rate increase is worse for people with lesser disc-per-month plans.

Also, based on my use of the streaming service, I think the selection has gotten worse over time. I think Netflix is overvaluing their streaming based on the content currently available.

I think one thing they should seriously consider doing to avoid losing more subscribers to RedBox is to include BD titles in their disc based plans.
