I have heard wonderful things about greyhounds and Italian greyhounds being great apartment dogs. The best generic advice I can provide is to go through a rescue organization for whatever breed of dog you adopt. Whether the rescue is breed-specific or generic, most of their dogs will be in foster homes that can give you important information regarding temperament, tolerance of children, food guarding, energy level etc. If you do decide to buy from a breeder, please do your due diligence to make sure the breeder is doing appropriate genetic tests on dogs in the breeding program. He/she should also clearly take excellent care of his/her own dogs, screen potential adoptive homes/show concern about where the pups are being placed, participate in 'matching' pups with prospective owners, have litters of puppies pretty infrequently and be knowledgeable about the 'fates' of puppies from previous litters (pretty common sense stuff). I have to agree with a lot of the other comments - The diagonal sofa seems like a great idea but the "after" room looks too cluttered with skirts and ornate lamps to really appreciate the effect of the sofa move. Break Free of the Wall: Sofas on the Diagonal |

I'm a big fan of crating and my dog learned to love / be comfortable in his crate when he was a puppy while we were at work or sleeping. His crate was definitely an eyesore in the corner of our living room, and covering part of it with a sheet didn't exactly improve the look. Thank GOODNESS he is much more trustworthy now at 16 months old and we were able to store his crate in our attic:) How Can I Hide or Disguise a (Big!) Dog Crate? Good Questions |
