Your kitchen is lovely, simple and highly functional.
I was just wondering, what brand / model stove-top and oven is that? They look very easy to keep clean.

I like hot air popcorn with Bragg's Liquid Aminos that comes in a spray bottle. It's a great nibble for those watching their cholesterol intake.

Hard for me to wrap my head around pork chops, when I'm up to the eyeballs in preparing huge cauldrons of Vegetarian Matzo Ball Soup for the ensuing crowds coming to celebrate the New Year. Happy Rosh Hashanah!

I add a peeled and shredded green apple to mine. It helps get the fermentation processes started. I learned this from the book, The Art of Jewish Cooking by Jennie Grossinger, under her making pickles chapter.

Making Jams and Jelly with little to NO sugar is easy. Go to Whole Foods and buy "Pomona's Universal Pectin"

http://www.pomonapectin.com/

The stuff is magical and it's made by a small cottage industry, with stellar customer service. I have used their product with excellent results. One box makes a ton of jam.

Here is their tutorial for making strawberry jam. It's really quite easy.

Peanuts work great in pesto as a replacement for pine nuts. The pesto freezes well in snack size zipper bags for us to use during the long winter..

Don't buy the GE Profile white gas stove with four burners. The paint has rusted from the very beginning and they have not stood by their product.

For Northern exposures, try pyracantha espaliered up a wall or trellis, to this layer a variety of shade loving creeping juniper or needlepoint ivy for trailing down the container. In the summer months for a splash of interest fill in with coleus and impatiens that come in a variety of colors.

Shop Craigslist for older wrought iron, well made pieces. Paint them in wrought iron black to make them look like a set. Then pick up some matching cushions to unify the look. Home Depot, Lowes, Target and L.L. Bean have good selections. If you can wait until end of the season, you can get them for a huge savings.
