I seem to recall Alton Brown, in an episode of Good Eats, talking about the benefits of using garlic powder in cooking. I can't remember all the specifics, except garlic powder needs to be reconstituted, and you should always read labels as many brands use filler. I just got a set of organic cotton sheets at Target this weekend. 250 thread count, but quite soft and I'm sure they will get softer with washing. The set was $39.99 and there were several nice colors. Apartment Therapy San Francisco | On Sale: Classic Cotton Bed Linens |

"Courtesy Helping" meant we had to at least try a spoonful everything offered (including veggies). This was the rule whether we were at home, at a restaurant, or someone's home. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Table Manners: "FHB on the Pie" |

Last time I was given a big bag of lemons, I juiced them. I used an electric citrus juicer and poured the juice in ice cube trays and froze them. I have a big freezer bag full of lemon juice cubes now so I always have fresh lemon juice on hand. Each cube is about 2 tablespoons. I'm not a fan because I prefer more texture to my hot cereal (oatmeal, or hot Kashi pilaf). My husband, however, is a huge fan and has it at least a couple of days a week for breakfast. He likes the maple, brown sugar instant variety. My mom likes it, too, with just butter and salt. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Warm Breakfast: Who Still Eats Cream of Wheat? |

I work in ritzy Orange County, California. The office I work in has a galley style kitchen with 2 fridges, 2 microwaves, toaster oven, sink, dishwasher, china plates, real glassware and silverware. Paper and plastic is also available. The company provides coffee and tea everyday. A light meal or snack is usually provided for our monthly staff meetings. We have a Krups that we got as a wedding gift. It's awesome! No temperature control, but it does automatically shut-off once it boils, so we just let it sit for a minute before using for tea and coffee. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Kitchen Tech Survey: Do You Own an Electric Kettle? |

Are the walls white? In the first pic, they look white, in the second one, they look a bit blue. If the walls are white, I think white cabinets might make it look too stark. If you paint the cabinets white, how about painting the walls? Lily C had some interesting color ideas. Or maybe adding a back splash...glass tiles, perhaps? I still think there is a bit of regional influence. My mom's family, from southwest Missouri (Ozark country) calls it dressing, and serves it as a casserole. My dad's family, originally from Pennsylvania, called it stuffing and cooked it inside the bird. My husband's family is from Michigan and Indiana and they also call it stuffing and cook it accordingly. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | What Do You Say? Stuffing or Dressing? |
