Three weeks already? Wow... this has flown by and I'm at least 100X happier than I was when I started. No joke! My fiance can vouch for it... the clutter and the mess and the long hours at work were really getting to me. Now I can actually sit in my living room or kitchen and relax! I'm looking forward to cleaning out my bedroom today (got a big head start over the weekend) and probably even putting some more time into my sewing room! Thanks for the motivation!

Day 11: Clean One Room
The 20/20 Home Cure

Over the weekend I cleaned up my sewing room so I think I'm going to sit in there for 10 minutes. I have yet to sew even a stitch there, unfortunately!

I'm definitely not feeling low energy today. I finally have a working kitchen sink (yay!) and I started cleaning up my sewing room (a nightmare). I spent about 4 hours last night cleaning and organizing, but turning the lights on this morning and having the whole floor and every surface clear made it all worth it! Today I'll be surface cleaning the living room and making some curtains for my sewing room.

Ninakk, thank goodness you mentioned makeup! I need to get rid of some cosmetics I've owned and never used for 6+ years. I started outboxing things earlier in the week that I just couldn't stand to have cluttering my closet anymore. It will be awesome to finally have an organized bathroom!

Clutter is a big problem of mine, too. I started my outbox on Monday and it's been a really great experience. Coming to terms with getting rid of things before actually disposing of them is clearing the clutter out of my mind as well... it's helping me see what I actually like and don't like, right now. And it's also helping me see the floor, which is a relief! :)

As part of my frenzy yesterday I prepped a vase. It's waiting on the kitchen table for me to come home with some flowers!

Day 2: Buy Fresh Flowers

My 20 minutes turned into 3.5 hours of frenzied cleaning in 3 separate rooms. I had to work around a broken kitchen sink drain, which made it much harder, and I washed some things in the bathtub just to get the kitchen presentable. When I got up this morning it was 55 degrees inside (heater is broken, too) but the impact of last night's cleaning binge made the whole place seem so much better. Someone could live here. I could live here.
