That is so cute! It's really creative, and I like that you opted for pancakes. I'm sure the kids loved the novelty of it.

I've debated with myself whether or not to comment because I think it's really easy for people to forget how to be tactful and kind in their criticism. However, given the comments that have already been made, I felt it necessary to weigh in.

@Dana, you are clearly a creative mother who is invested in providing your child with fun and memorable parties. That is to be commended.

However (of course), it is my (professional) opinion that at the very least the choice to post pictures on the Internet and arguably the choice of theme for this party was poor judgment.

To give you some background, I'm both a survivor of childhood sexual abuse as well as a professional who works with children who have been victimized. I also often end up working with their molesters. For normal, healthy adults, the pictures above are not in any way erotic. Adults shouldn't find children to be erotic. However, I can guarantee you, that there are people out there looking at these pictures who are unable to understand that.

It isn't really a question for me as to whether your child understands the lyrics. That's a parenting decision that would fall under "not the way I'd choose to parent," but I'm sure that if I opened my life up you would probably think the same thing about some of the decisions that I make. However, putting the picture of your daughter up opens her up to be a sex object for other people.

As for the moderators for Ohdeedoh, I implore you to remove at least the second picture (who I am assuming is Isabella). Although (hopefully) none of the readers find that picture arousing, it's likely that at least some of them do.

We never kept all of our candy, and I usually didn't want all of it anyway. The fun was dressing up and going door to door, and I got to pick what candy i kept. Whatever we didn't keep, we sent to a nearby residential facility for kids in foster care. It was great for the kids there, who couldn't trick or treat.
