After my son turned five we donated the glider and ottoman to a college kid. We had not used the thing for months but our son was sad to see it go. The silver lining was that he approved of the recipient.

I just showed the picture to my five year old and asked if he wanted to try making them for breakfast this weekend. To my surprise he was a litlle creeped out and said, "no thanks." What do I know, I'm just the mom?!

My favorites are gingersnaps. My grandpa and I shared that obsession. My five year old son's favority is chocolate covered krispy-treat balls. I take regular rice-krispie treat ingredients, roll it into truffle-sized balls, let them cool and then dip into melted baking chocolate. People are always surprised when they try them for the first time, because they truly expect cake or chocolate inside. I do need to come up with a better name for them and will take suggestions.

My mother's family had a child's Hudson Bay coat that I wore and passed on to a distant cousin. I always wanted a blanket and asked my mother-in-law and grandmother-in-law to go halvsies one Christmas. My grandmother-in-law had two in her basement that had been in storage since the 1960's. Can you believe no one in her family used or wanted them? She gave me both! They are cherished staples in my home and someday, hopefully, will be passed on to a daugher-in-law or grandaughter-in-law!
