This is the most AWESOME pink room I've seen in a long time! Love those vintage prints!

Adorable!! I just did a post a couple weeks ago on fairies and fairy doors over at my site, http://www.juliasbookbag.com/, and linked to this same Etsy seller!! I love how she adds numbers to the door, the one we have doesn't have that added feature. SO CUTE! -- Melissa

This is a GREAT room! love it! Love the garlands, love the wallpaper (source??) and love the rug! This is really well done, classy and unlike a lot of the rooms I have been seeing here lately. Jumped out at me (in a good way) instantly! Looks like something I would see in Domino mag (if it still existed, sniff)

Yes yes yes! Loving these rooms today! I did that as well, thought I was going the all pink road, but ended up using a lot of red accents -- using red in kids' rooms, it really adds oomph! So fun!

what a fabulous room! I am wondering if the rug and curtains came from Anthropologie (or as my friend calls it, The Temple of Loveliness :) ........

I'm going to assume the other posters read the article. I know I did. What I am objecting to is the title of this post "Candy: Something to Fear?" -- this is yet another example of fearmongering re candy. Candy is NOT something to fear, yet over and over, Ohdeedoh keeps kinda putting out that message... it makes me sad since this site is a bit of an ode to all things great about childhood, no?? The actual article itself was great!

here we go again! I love this site soooo much but I don't love the way it perpetuates the OMG DONT LET YOUR KIDS HAVE CANDY! LIKE, EVER! thought process that I see just overwhelming parents these days. It amazes me how this has become the newest form of parental paranoia. I once went to a hamburger joint with a visiting friend and her daughter, along with my daughter (ages 4). We ordered them strawberry milkshakes. They arrived before the meal. My kid starts drinking hers. The look of utter horror on my friend, you have no idea -- she stared and asked incredulously, Are you going to let her have that BEFORE DINNER???? I was like, uh yeah. I think it will be ok. I really do. If she eats one less bite of fries or her burger, I dont think she will develop diabetes/heart disease/rickets/Legionnaire's Disease on the spot. Let me stress that my family eats healthy food. We eat vegetables (hurray!), organic, not too much processed. We all exercise and live a healthy and productive lifestyle. But I hate hate hate how parenting has been corrupted by fear. My kid will be eating her Halloween candy this year and I'm not going to make her feel paranoid about it.

oh no no no, I totally disagree -- to combat the relentless grey and gloom of Seattle (where I have lived for the past 20 yrs) -- I feel it is a MUST to have some bright cheery colors. In my previous home, I painted the bedroom a very greeny green (NOT sage), it was lovely and fun. In our current home, the last owners painted the guest room a fairly bright yellow, I initially thought, ooh that has to go, but we ended up keeping it, we call it The Yellow Room, it's our favorite room, along with my daughter's lilac bedroom! I will never understand how or why people in the Pac NW decide to decorate their homes in brown, forest green or navy, it's basically piling dark upon dark in a dark environment. Makes me crazy! It's all so......blah. This area needs a serious decor infusion of color!

This room is FAB -- it is a little reminiscent of another great kid's room I saw featured in Domino (the home of Jenna Lyons, J. Crew creative director) -- I just love this room to pieces, great job!!!

Gingerbread is my OBSESSION! I agree with the post re Laurie Colwin -- her books are amazing and so is her gingerbread, but in the past couple of yrs I have found some other strong winners: the gingerbread recipe in the "Crabtree & Evelyn Cookbook" (not sure if this is still in print but totally worth seeking out) is FAB, and so is Martha Stewart's recipe in her "Favorite Comfort Food" cookbook -- it uses freshly grated ginger AND powdered. Also, in a pinch, Trader Joe's boxed gingerbread mix is really good and is actually my small daughter's favorite. This year I am going to try Nigella's chocolate topped version -- I've been meaning to try it for ages!!!

This is a cute idea, but for pity's sake, just let the kids eat the candy!!!!!! So much energy I see expended here about how to circumvent the candy consumption --- it's Halloween, it's the one time where I truly think we can relax the reins and just let them eat their candy.
