If you can't find green curry paste I think you could just make a home made paste of green chilies and basil (Thai basil if you can get it). You could also add minced ginger and garlic and probably a touch of some other Indian/Thai seasonings such as Garam Masala. I rarely buy special pastes for this kind of thing as I enjoy coming up with my own version. Recipe: Green Curry Veggie Burgers with Black Beans & Walnuts Recipes from The Kitchn |

The non-stick pan might already be damaged from too high of a heat setting. I use T-fal pans now and only cook on low to med. Never med-high or higher. Let the pan get hot on a low setting first. Don't add salt to the eggs before cooking them. Use fresh eggs. And if all else fails, add just a touch of oil or butter. Why Are My Scrambled Eggs Sticking to My Nonstick Pan? Good Questions |

I can relate to the teenage kids thing - I have invited people before assuming it would be adults (even referring to it that way) and they show up teenagers in tow - and no, it doesn't ruin the party but they can SURE EAT. So now I just prepare accordingly if I invite them. If I don't want kids at all I stick to the friends who either don't have kids or their kids have grown out of the house. One of our best dinner parties was when we lived in a 700 sq. ft. house and hosted an engagement party for some friends with 14 guests. We set up a rented folding table and folding chairs under our attached carport, put up some white little glitter lights, and had lots of roasted vegetables, crusty bread, pork tenderloin medallions, plenty of wine and lots of fun and memories. Everyone made their own plate in our tiny kitchen buffet style and guests brought appetizers and sweets to share. The simple celebrations are often the best. 3 Memorable Entertaining Ideas I Picked Up at a Summer Dinner Party in Tel Aviv The Kitchn Abroad |

A great way to cook greens that is hard to resist is to slightly chop and blanch them in boiling water for about 30 secs - 1 min, then drain them a little - just use tongs and hold them over the water to drain - and put them in a baking dish with some melted real butter drizzled all over (I toss mine in it), then top with a thin layer of finely shredded parmesan and bake at 400 for about 15 mins. until the cheese just begins to get a tinge of brown. The greens will be just a bit crispy on some edges and VERY tasty! Feeding Greens to a Picky Eater: The Steak Strategy |

From that article, it sounds like if you dry the garlic first (in a low heat oven or dehydrator), you could safely add it to oil to store. This may be why the commercial brand has a slightly crunchy texture? You could still add citric acid for added safety couldn't you? Level-Up Your Dinner: Garlic Gold Ingredient Spotlight |

For those with runny yolks - do you let the eggs sit for a few minutes to finish cooking? I think you do have to remove the eggs before the whites seem completely cooked but if you can wait for 5 mins. more, you might get a better result. Mine have been mixed - I've done them at 400 degrees for 15 mins. with success but I had 1/2 an english muffin and some sauteed spinach/bacon on top, then the egg. No water bath- or the muffins might be soggy. How to Bake Eggs en Cocotte Cooking Lessons from The Kitchn |

I've tried this but I just don't feel the love. Maybe my feta wasn't good enough. I won't say what the combo tastes like to me. I do love watermelon with mint, just not with the feta. Recipe: Watermelon Salad with Feta & Mint Recipes From The Kitchn |

Well done! Not that anything in particular was wrong with the Before mind you, but everyone has their own dream kitchen so I totally understand the desire to go with what you love, and in this case what you felt you needed. Especially if you are willing to tackle it with so much re-use. Kitchen Before & After: Amanda Hesser's Budget Kitchen Makeover Kitchen Renovation |

I usually do the same as the Editor and reserve some of the marinade before adding the meat - but sometimes I use pan drippings for sauce. It depends really. I don't use "grill" drippings per se. I think super high heat could def. change the taste of the sauce. Maybe that's the problem? How Do I Make a Sauce from Meat Marinade? Good Questions |

Very nice! The only thing I *might* do differently is to use some frosted film to do the bottom half of the two kitchen windows with the AC view of the neighbors. Love the colors, style and everything. Renee's Family Kitchen Small Cool Kitchens 2012 |

Aside from diet, I've read a great number of success stories about using Apple Cider Vinegar as an aid to dissolve kidney stones. You must dilute it with water to drink it. I like to bake a sliced apple or pear and add some maple syrup, cinnamon, maybe some orange juice, dried fruit (raisins, sliced figs, apricots) then serving with a little cream and granola? You can make a larger dish of course so you can enjoy some with breakfast. Muffins are great as others suggested. If I make a cake to freeze, I tend to make one that is more of a pound cake or coffee cake. Coffee cake with lots of dried fruit and nuts is also wonderful when used for french toast. It's nice - with one caveat for me - the number of black pillows on the couch makes it seem like you wish you didn't have a white couch. With the heavy black frames it's just kind of overdone black. Nicole's Contemporary Elliot Park Condo House Call |
