We used "Wire Guard" cord covers so there would be no long cords to tug at. Sort of looks like molding and attaches to the wall if you want it too. Babyproofing Solutions for Lamps Good Questions |

I was in the "any bag can be a diaper bag" camp and then on a whim got this one. I really love it. For a quick run to the store I still use just a canvas tote but if we are going to a play date, out to dinner etc. and need to take a lot of stuff - extra diaper, snacks etc. its really great - the pockets come in so handy and things stay really organized. Love that my stuff - wallet, sunglasses are separate from babies and that it feels unisex. Only thing I dislike is the name/logo on it - So Young Mother is odd and screams out diaper bag. I echo the white idea. To help with the "design" process you might want to find some room images online, print and then let her pick out one she likes the best to use as inspiration. That way you can make selections that you are comfortable with while stilling giving her the control on the final direction. Ideas to Update an Old Bedroom Set for a Teen Girl Good Questions |

How about Basil Shrimp with Orzo & Feta? It has asparagus and cherry tomatoes so its really light, summery and colorful. If you don't like feta you can switch it for goat which I've done before. I've made it both in the oven and in a pot (just making sure to stir) so I don't think it would be an issue to multiply for a big group. You can find it on Cooking Light. Ok - I'll have to think about Corelle shattering. We have a flagstone patio (with cracks of grass in between) so shattering into a hundred pieces would be a problem - especially if it happened near/in the pool. Will look into camping dishes as well. This might be a bit much - but what about "sshh baby is sleeping. To see our newest arrival visit www.newbaby.com" or something to that effect. Link to a photo site or blog with some images of the new baby and maybe a note about the gentle rules of visiting (you can put in some of the details you mentioned). College students are obviously into technology and this would still give them a chance to see the baby and if you added a guest book even leave a well wishing note. You could pick up some alphabet or number cards that are printed on heavy card stock and put them up with double sided non marking tape. We have these above our changing table and if they fall off no big deal. http://www.eeboo.com/product.php?cat=30&prod=34 I'm sure you could find something similar in a more "big boy" appropriate theme. I agree suggestion to use floor length curtains. We have them in our nursery. I was a little worried it might feel too formal so used a soft linen and it really does make the room (and window) feel bigger. We used a cradle next to our bed. When the baby turned 5 months we transitioned to a crib. It is really nice to have them close by in the early months and they seem snugger somehow in a smaller bed. You can totally wait but you might want to get it sooner rather than later so its ready when you are - I mean you'll need to at some point right? Postponing a Crib Purchase Good Questions |
