I have had all of these issues with my cats through the years. One (dearly departed) kitten in particular seemed to live to scamper across the keys every time I left my desk, the others have just wanted the heat from my $1,000 machine and no other warmth will do. The daybed fits the space perfectly and was the main reason I got it. You have to buy a mattress for the bed, so be prepared for that extra expense and it had to be assembled (fairly easy). I put a foam layer between the mattress and the cover, which makes it comfy but also leaves big wrinkles afterward...being a neat freak, I go back and forth between wanting to replace it with something more streamlined and loving the lolling in front of the tv on a comfy bed aspect.
