Paper lanterns are a great way to add color and interest to a room at a very low price. I like to hang them in groups of three different coordinating colors and sizes. You can hang the lanterns from the ceiling with clear fishing line and a thumbtack the same color as your ceiling - if you don't want to add lighting.

How about using some cute Amy Butler fabric to create either project and then entering the contest?
