Thanks for the video, but the sound was really bad; a lot of scratching, I suppose it was that mic pinned to your shirt.
Anyway take care !

Here what you should do. This document is a translation from a French text written by a cloth diaper shop owner located in my village.

First of all make sure to NEVER use conditioner when washing the diapers as it greatly reduces their absorption.

Secondly, you have to know that no matter what you do, the more you use and wash the cloth diapers, the less absorbent they will be; so the two women owning the shop recommended me to do a yearly in depth cleansing of the diapers. You can the recipe in the document I've linked above, but here it is anyway:

"Cloth diapers deep cleansing: In case of bad odors or diminished absorption capacity, you can soak your clean diapers for a night in bucket of warm water with a handful of washing soda, a little of dishwashing liquid and a glass of white vinegar (in case of hard water). Then wash your diapers at 60°C without any laundry product. This helps getting rid of grease and limestone residue that clog the fibers."

My son is now 2 years old and for about 2 months we were getting leaks all the time. We did the special cleansing and it did help recovering some absorption. We also bought 5 brand new diapers the size above for the night.

What we usually do is soak the dirty diapers in a bucket (with a lid for the smell) with water and we add 15-20 drops of either tea tree or lavender essential oil. The tea tree has a sanitizing and anti-fungus effect, the lavender has a disinfectant effect. Both smell very good.

For your washing machine, make sure to select the right program for dirty or heavy soiled cotton fabric. It should work.

Hope this helps. Do not hesitate to contact me should you have any question or comment.
