I did this to the surrounding area around a chalkboard I painted on my office wall, and everyone who visits compliments it. I used about 20 different books ranging from atlases to encyclopedias to old novels; the variety added great texture.

Use Elmer's white glue - cheap to buy in bulk and super easy to clean up. Probably easy to remove the paper too, given that it's water soluble, but I have no desire to remove my paper collage yet!

I prefer using credit for everything (even my $2 coffees), because it enables me to better track my budget - cash is like play money to me. Makes tax time easier too, not having to sort through paper receipts.

Credit isn't bad if you use it responsibly.

My house is in desperate need of paint job and the money would go to fix up the inside, so I would definitely do this. My neighbors have yet to say hi to me anyway, so who cares what they think.

I like the use of space and the textures. I'm going to look past the awful HDR effect of the photos and favorite.

Yay, red! Love the stark contrast the white creates; it also ties the rooms together nicely.

The dresser is lovely, but that's about the only thing that has character in the place. Hang the art (and I use that term loosely), and add some color; even just a plant would add some interest.

Warm and cozy, especially for a loft. The kitchen chairs seem out of place though, like you ran out of money before you could buy better ones (I say this speaking from experience...).

Not my style, but a very cohesive design. I do like the aged feeling of it all.

I adore the shiny blue in the first house, but the room needs more color accents - looks like an unfinished coloring book picture.
