I substituted 2 tbsp flaxseed meal + 6 tbsp water for the eggs and almond milk instead of dairy to make this recipe vegan-friendly. I made mini-muffins baked for 20 min. I was afraid 2 bananas wouldn't be enough but the banana flavor comes through beautifully while keeping the muffins moist but cake-like in texture. an excellent recipe!

I adore my Lodge double dutch oven - the lid flips over and becomes a 1 1/2" deep skillet. The cost is less than $40, too.

blocks, legos, tinkertoys, and some thing to populate the worlds created: schleich animals, superhero action figures, anything.

my nearly 4 and nearly 8 year olds have been happily choosing these items over everything else since they were infants. we just had a day-long play party the other day with two 7 year olds and two 3 year olds and they played with tinkertoys and superheroes most of all.

(we also have playmobil sets which get a lot of play starting from about age 6)

Perhaps there has been a change since the manufacture of the product reviewed here, but I have three of these humidifiers which I purchased in 2009. Two have stopped working, one works but makes a terrible amount of noise. The warranties have expired and the manufacturer has told me that I'm out of luck.

I have the attachment for my sink so i can regulate the water temperature. we use ours not only as a bidet (and i find it indispensable or this reason alone) but to wash the kids' hair in the bathtub, water the plants, and fill humidifier tanks. It's previously been used to rinse cloth diapers and wash out a training potty, as previous posters noted. This brand aerates the water so you get excellent water pressure without using a lot of water.

We've had a mini trampoline since my daughter was 3, and it still gets used, every single day. She's 7 now, with a 3 year old brother. It fits under their twin bunk beds (mostly).

Do this with a toddler-sized prefold cloth diaper and you have one that's padded for protection.

I put pans of water + spices on top of the radiators. It humidifies the dry winter air, the spices smell wonderful, and I don't waste energy running the stove just to make the house smell delicious.

I use silicone ice cube trays which I got at Ikea for $1 each tray. They come in a lot of shapes and make terrible ice cubes. They make great crayons, though.

(and kids here in New York City are just as happy with loot as candy - we go trick or treating at stores, not homes, and always get weird stuff. it's all about the party, not the candy.)
