I grew up in the city and as a single person in my 30s I prefer a walkable lifestyle. I'm planning to buy a row home closer to work so that I can walk and only drive on the weekends when I need to run errands or go to big box stores. The only type of suburb I could ever picture myself living in is one of those inner ring street car suburbs as they tend to be walkable, have good transit and pre war homes. I kept my vintage furniture when I moved because replacement cost for solid wood furniture would be more than the price of moving. My friend gave away her particle board bedroom set when she moved cross country for the same reason. Stocking Up Before Moving: Perverse or Perfectly Sensible? |

After paying dues at an entry level job in the middle of no where I was ready to move on. Whenever I saw a vacancy in my field I'd research the city. I was looking for a diverse tolerant city, an airport with direct lights to my parents, prewar residential architecture, parks, reasonable cost of living in comparison to the jobs salary range. Beautiful renovation that seems to meet the owners needs and budget. The white tiled walls and lack of upper cabinets make the small space seem really open and bright.
