This should win as the overall coolest house design ever, small or not. From the first shot I just wanted to be in there! I love every room, and every detail. Great job!

Really cute place. My older dog would love being able to stay on the bed ALL day and watch our every move without having to get up and follow us around from room to room :)

Your place is beautiful! Very open, sunny and inviting. I'm with you on the mint door, though. I'm thinking perhaps more a sage green might blend with the deeper, richer tones elsewhere in the apartment while keeping it light and bright? Those chairs are definitely a great find!

I would love for mints to take over my yard! The front is shaded almost 100% of the time from spring to fall, but there is one small mint plant that hangs in there in a little semi-sunny spot. I wish mint would grow in the shade because my dogs have dug and run that section of the yard bare, but maybe I can get it to grow in the back area that receives full sun all day, every day. Mint repels all sorts of annoying buglife, so I say "let it spread"! I think I'll go buy some mint plants....

I have to comment on what a wonderful apartment dog my 5 year old cattle dog would make. I do happen to live in the country, with 1.25 acres fenced in and a few more for her to roam in if she wishes, but she really likes being in the house and chooses to stay there most of the day. I have to coax, cajole and goad her into coming outside to play! That said, if we go out to a nature trail, she'll gladly hike 8 or 10 miles and then some, but otherwise she is happy with a couple of half hour to hour long walks per day. Judging by her and my newest rescue, who is also a cattle dog mix (and preggers, at that) cattle dogs don't even need as many potty breaks as other pups might. I never, ever would have thought of getting an ACD before adopting the Sydster - she's the most awesome dog ever, even for a basically lazy long-distance commuter like me. She's lucky to have a dog nanny who walks her at noon while I'm at work, but she'd probably be okay even if I could only walk her mornings and evenings. Older dogs make great pets!! Especially rescues :)

You are a master at hanging art. I love every grouping, and each is so different from the others. Great space!

Your apartment is beautiful! The way you have it decorated it seems much larger than its 280 sq feet. Somehow it seems both warm and cozy AND light and airy. The view is spectacular, as well.

I LOVE that sunroom!! Drool...
And the wall of books as art is really cool, too. I may have to do something similar here at home.

I could so easily live in this apartment. It's beautiful, and I love the scaling of the furniture and that amazing solution to creating a bedroom. It makes me miss my old vintage downtown apartment! And it's perfectly okay to live without a couch - I'm in a house now, but still don't have a couch. The dogs would just hog it anyway.

I'm imagining this with prettier bottles or long tubes and clear (or tinted) water allowing the sun to sparkle through, and using this as a low tech heat transfer method to help warm, say, a bathroom in winter. Passive solar, like these used in an office lobby: http://www.bacorp1.com/images/LobbyWaterTubes.jpg, or these in a greenhouse: http://www.thenaturalhome.com/image12a.jpg
