Our son is 2 and we are expecting our second. He absolutely loves the Mr. Roger's book: The New Baby which we found at our local library. It really helps us talk about it with him. When our son was 10 months, his baby cousin was born and we got him a little baby doll to practice being gentle with a baby. It really helped once the little on was around all of the time! Good luck!

A lot of our artwork turns into post cards, greeting cards, notes and other mail. We made a little correspondence kit - basically a tin with stamps, pre-printed address labels and envelopes so we can quickly send some fresh art to family and friends

You could also have a day each season where you go through the latest artwork and have the artist pick their favorites or best work to keep in a book / album / portfolio and then have some options for the rest - recylce / use as wrapping paper / book covers / correspondence / shred for other projects etc....

there is always the photo idea and sheet protectors in binders- always fun.

The new Baby Einstein? The trailer promises to teach a whole bunch of skills that are better learned by engaging in the real world.

I'd much rather take my baby to a farm than to have him play a video game to "understand where food comes from". I think he'd learn a lot more form "helping others" in real life than in the Park game on the Vinci.

Young ones can better learn these skills by having meaningful interactions with the real (non-virtual) world.

We are definitely far from perfectly green 100% of the time - but I must say, with a new baby at home we are loving those cloth diapers! They've come a long way since we were in diapers - so many options! In our experience they work much better than disposables anyway.
