Nice job on the crib! I have to agree with other comments, though. The lights and mobiles have got to go, both from a safety standpoint and an aesthetic one. They really detract from the modern spareness of the crib. Keep that baby safe and let your handiwork shine!

@Anusha73 I wondered about painting the chair as well! I choose not to for aesthetic (to tie the chair in with the crib and floors) and practical (I was running out of steam and not sure how to paint over the oiled finish of the chair anyway) reasons. But I still think that a bright hue or white would be fun.

@sarahcarioca I'm not sure how long you need your pelmet box to be, but our larger window is about 7 feet wide and to construct the box we used 12"x1" boards for the front and sides and 4"x1" for the top. It is very sturdy and heavy--no signs of warping or sagging. I hope that helps.
